SPEAKING TO AMERICA
The allied campaign in Iraq will officially transition from war to reconstruction tonight when President Bush addresses the nation at 9:00 PM, announcing the end of combat operations.

What is less clear is the role the U.S. will play in post-war Iraq, long a subject of contentious debate. Whether peacekeepers consist of U.S./U.K. forces or U.N. personnel, the job will be fraught with danger: The most recent clash in Fallujah injured seven U.S. soldiers as anti-American sentinment continues to escalate.

Dear Arabs & Persians,
Why do you hate us so??? My brother is in Iraq as a civilian. Before he went, my family made sure it was not about money. He insisted that he just wanted to help the country of Iraq. This is very believable considering what kind of person my brother is. His only interest is to improve the situation. Why do you hate us so? Our men do not want to be there, they want to be with their families - they are there to help. Why such hate?! I don't think my brother's life is worth even a single Iraqie, but this is what he chose. Is all this hate fueled because we are mostly not moslem? Is this a religion issue? I'm trying to understand, please reply.

I am not an Arab but can offer some reasons why they hate us.

1. Islam has been plagued with alien intervention since the 12th century. This intervention always results in their people ending up dead. They are sick of it. The U.S. is just the latest country to come along and kill their people.

2. Our mideast policy brought Saddam to power in the first place.

3. Our media is biased against muslims and arabs due to a strong jewish influence. Jew represent a disproportionate amount of people involved in Amercian media.

4. Iraq had nothing to do with 911. If this was about 911 we should really be invading Saudi Arabia.

5. The US has killed millions of Iraqi's directly through war and indirectly to supporting Saddam's rise to power.

I agree with all the points that extagen made. Israel is the "tail that wags the dog". We in the US are suppose to be neutral in the middle east yet we repeatedly arm Israel so they can kill palestinians. The US media is biased. For example... what do you call an arab that kills an Israeli? Answer: A terrorist. What do you call an Israeli who kills an arab? Answer: A commando!

Unfortunately, everytime someone comes forward and tells the American people this they are quickly labeled an anti-semite. Since when did the simple truth become unspeakable?

I agree with extagen. We (the U.S.) are the bad guy in the middle east. We are doing to muslims exactly what we once did to the American Indians. Yellow journalism has been around for a very long time.

I feel bad for the couple in the picture. The pilot has a duty to serve but we the people have a duty to not put him at risk unless it is important. Iraq was a bad idea.
